Tripling conversion rates with a bespoke website

After launching a client’s new website, we instantly saw their conversion rates triple.

The project

When we started working together, the client was using a basic template-style website. It lacked personality, had a poor user experience (especially around the application form), and was tricky to update.

Despite this, they were running PPC campaigns to drive traffic—paying to bring users to a site that wasn’t set up to convert.

The result was low conversion rates, and money wasted on lost leads.

Healthy Pixels’ role

When Healthy Pixels stepped in, we agreed to support with:

  • Restructuring homepage content
  • Designing and building a new, bespoke website
  • Improving the user experience of the application

That included rewriting the copy to make it more engaging and designing a modern layout that reflected the brand. We designed custom illustrations—unique to this brand—and wove visual brand elements throughout the site.

Our goal was to guide users toward the application form with clear, benefit-led content and a smart, user-friendly design.

We also completely rebuilt the application form: simplifying dropdowns into clickable options, removing unnecessary fields, and adding real-time status feedback to reduce friction.

This resulted in a smoother, faster experience, and the instant uplift in conversions proved it worked.

What’s happening behind the scenes?

The old website lacked in several areas:

  • The design was bland and generic: it didn’t build any trust.
  • The content was informative and not engaging: people left uninspired.
  • The application was slow and unintuitive: users struggled to complete it.

Like many businesses, the client had initially opted for a low-cost setup: they wrote the content themselves, picked a basic template, and used random stock images.

And while that may have saved money upfront, it ended up costing more in the long run—especially once they started running paid ads to drive traffic.

Once they brought in professional support, things shifted fast. And again, the results speak for themselves.
